Lt. Governor Zuckerman Holds Press Conference With Vermont Labor Leaders

BURLINGTON: Today, the Zuckerman for VT campaign held a press conference with Vermont labor organizations representing around 30,000 Vermont union members across the state. Labor leaders highlighted David’s notable labor endorsements, discussed key issues in the governor’s race, and pushed for grassroots activism as ballots go out across the state.

Lt. Governor Zuckerman said,

“The labor organizations standing here with me and their thousands of members represent the engines driving our state and providing so many essential services. Educators, communication workers, health care professionals, buildings and trades. I have stood with them on picket lines and advocated with them for policies to improve the wellbeing of their employees and of all Vermonters. And just as it was unions that fought to ensure the 40 hour work-week became the standard for all workers, the issues they are fighting for right now directly impact all workers in Vermont.”

Lt. Governor Zuckerman was joined by:

Don Tinney, President of the Vermont NEA,

Margaret Crowley, VSEA Legislative Committee Chair,

Dwight Brown, Vice President of the VT AFL-CIO and Member of AFSCME Local 1343,

Heather Riemer, Director of AFT-VT, and

Damion Gilbert, President of AFSCME Local 1343 and Election Board of Council 93.
