Lt. Governor Zuckerman holds Get Out The Vote Campaign Rally

HINESBURG: Yesterday, the Zuckerman for VT campaign hosted a virtual Get Out the Vote Rally to galvanize volunteers and donors in the last two weeks of the 2020 election.

The event was hosted by Lt. Governor Zuckerman who spoke to the important issues facing Vermont and the country and encouraged attendees to vote for him and all Democrats up and down the ticket.

Lt. Governor Zuckerman said:

“This election here in Vermont is so related to all the rest across the country. We need to bring decency back to democracy. We absolutely need to make sure we are electing people all over the country that respect the rules and procedures and institutions of our democracy. Where we can speak to people across party lines. Where we can sit down and negotiate differences. And where we can bring in people from all walks of life into the process just as I have as a legislator for 18 years and as Lt. Governor for the last 4 years.  We have to make sure we elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to the White House. We have to take back the Senate nationally. And we have an opportunity in Vermont to take the Governor’s office and to move Vermont in a forward direction. Not with a governor who has vetoed 20 bills in the last 4 years, but with a governor who is going to work with the legislature to implement raises to the minimum wage, paid family leave, climate crisis legislation, and so forth. I would like your vote.”

Speakers also included Representative Peter Welch, Lt. Governor candidate Molly Gray, and Senator Bernie Sanders

Senator Sanders said:

“Our job now is to have a vision for a new future. And that is what David is about.  Beating Trump is one thing, but having a vision that speaks to the vast majority of people in our state and across the country is something else. And I think David has that vision.”

Representative Welch said:

“What we know in the economy, even with COVID, is that some folks are doing okay. But there are challenges that everyday Vermonters are experiencing - where they are worried about their meals, where they are worried about their kids… What you, [David,] are doing in your campaign is you’re making them visible. They are Vermonters…That has always been a major approach not just to politics but to your work as a farmer.”

Lt. Governor candidate Molly Gray said:

“David Zuckerman is the real deal! He not only talks the talk, but he walks the walk. It is true, we were just out in the rain on a Friday afternoon with dozens of volunteers. The Energy and momentum is building here in Vermont…I want to be a partner with David Zuckerman, putting people, communities, and workers at the forefront.”
