Lt. Governor David Zuckerman Hosts Virtual Victory Party and Announces Endorsement from Former Lt. Governor Doug Racine

BURLINGTON: Last night, in a virtual victory party hosted by the Zuckerman for VT campaign with over 50 supporters, volunteers, and donors, Former Lt. Governor Doug Racine announced his endorsement of David Zuckerman for Governor of Vermont.

“To fight back against the triple crises of COVID-19, freshly exposed institutional racism, and an economy already being torn apart by growing inequality, we need a leader who will stand up for the thousands of Vermont families and fight against the root causes of poverty in our state,” said former Lt. Governor Doug Racine. “David knows we cannot return to the old ‘normal’ that was failing our working families and our communities. He will ensure families have the financial stability of a decent job with livable wages and will work hard to raise the minimum wage and support policies that ensure the health and wellbeing of our children.”

The victory party also featured speeches from high-profile endorsers including: author, environmentalist, and founder of 350.org Bill McKibben, former Bernie 2020 Co-Chair, Senator Nina Turner, Vermont Senate Majority Leader Becca Balint, Representative Brian Cina and Executive Director of Rights & Democracy, James Haslam.

The Zuckerman for Vermont campaign also highlighted some of their long-time super volunteers including Michael Haveson & Mary Tirpok from Hardwick who have spent countless hours working for the Zuckerman for VT campaign this cycle and have been longtime supporters and volunteers since David’s first run for Lt. Governor in 2016.

The victory party wrapped up with a rallying cry from Lt. Governor David Zuckerman who expressed his sincere thanks to the countless individuals who had helped his campaign and charted his vision for the state and the path forward for the campaign to victory in November.
