Lt. Governor Zuckerman Expands Virtual Campaign
BURLINGTON: Lt. Governor Zuckerman is expanding access to resources and building community with Vermonters through a variety of virtual activities. With in-person campaigning suspended for the foreseeable future, the Zuckerman for VT campaign emailed supporters a selection of virtual activities to stay connected, all of which can be found on their newly released website.
“We had been looking forward to holding campaign kick-off events around the state in April,” said Lt. Governor Zuckerman. He continued, “However, with in-person campaigning suspended, we have focused our efforts on creating a location for Vermonters to connect with us and each other.”
The new Zuckerman for Vermont website, that still uses the www.zuckermanforvt.com url, includes many of the traditional campaign pages: an extensive section about David and his career, issue sections, and areas where supporters can “get involved” and “volunteer.” The campaign makes sure to clarify that all events and activities will be virtual for the time being.
However, the website also includes some more timely pages. A COVID-19 banner is present at the top of each page throughout the website. When clicked, it presents the website visitor with information about COVID-19 and a list of resources for Vermonters during this health crisis. These resources range from ways that parents can supplement their children’s education to mental health resources, and economic resources for small business owners and those who have lost their jobs.
The campaign’s website also includes an extensive page with videos and recordings of all of the virtual events the campaign has held in the last three weeks since the campaign’s in-person events were canceled. These events include a recording of the Lt. Governor’s recent telephone town hall with a family physician and a nurse to answer questions about COVID-19, a number of interviews with experts on various aspects of the health crisis, and a recording from the campaign’s newly announced #Music4VT concert series.
In an email to supporters on April 6th, the campaign shared their new website and announced upcoming events for supporters and all Vermonters who wish to be involved:
A regular live question and answer session on Facebook Live every Tuesday at 4pm to answer questions from Vermonters. The campaign encouraged those who want questions answered to email questions to: questions@zuckermanforvt.com.
A telephone town hall about food systems and food security in Vermont on April 8th at 2pm. The campaign included the call-in number for the town hall: 855-756-7520 Ext. 58376#
A list of upcoming concerts in their #Music4VT concert series all available through livestream on the campaign’s Facebook page and YouTube channel:

“Vermonters are contacting Lt. Governor Zuckerman everyday asking questions and looking for reliable resources,” said Megan Polyte, Campaign Manager. “We wanted to have one location where Vermonters could find information, stay connected, and also find some relaxing activities to do with family or friends.”
The campaign encouraged Vermonters to visit their website for upcoming events.
