Zuckerman For VT Campaign Announces Endorsements from Senator Patrick Leahy and Statewide Leaders

BURLINGTON: Today, the Zukerman for VT campaign announced the endorsements of Senator Patrick Leahy, State Auditor Doug Hoffer, Senate Pro Temp Tim Ashe, and Speaker of the House Mitzi Johnson.

With Senator Leahy’s endorsement today, Lt. Governor David Zuckerman has received an endorsement from the entire Vermont Federal delegation: Senator Patrick Leahy, Senator Bernie Sanders, and Representative Peter Welch. Lt. Governor Zuckerman has also now been endorsed by every Democratic and Independent statewide elected official in Vermont, save for Secretary of State Jim Condos who has recused himself from endorsements due to his position overseeing elections in Vermont. 

Senator Patrick Leahy said:

“I am proud to support the entire democratic ticket led by David Zuckerman who has shown great leadership as Lt. Governor.”  

Auditor Doug Hoffer said:

“As State Auditor, I am tasked with ensuring state dollars are used effectively and efficiently. We have identified millions of dollars in cost overruns, improper payments, and unnecessary expenditures. I know David will stand up for Vermonters and help root out inefficiencies that are costing taxpayers money. I enthusiastically support David Zuckerman for Governor.” 

In response to these endorsements, Lt. Governor David Zuckerman said: “I am humbled by the support I have received from folks around the state and in leadership both at the federal and state level. I know that together, we can take back the Governorship and work to implement policies that will help all Vermonters.”

Lt. Governor David Zuckerman has also been endorsed by: the Working Families Party, VPIRG Votes, Our Revolution, Rights & Democracy, People for the American Way, the Vermont Sierra Club, Moms Demand Action, People’s Action, the Vermont AFL CIO, CWA Local 1400, AFSCME Council 93, the Champlain Valley DSA, the four Bernie 2020 co-chairs: U.S. Representative Ro Khanna, Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz, State Senator Nina Turner and Ben Cohen, Jerry Greenfield, Former U.S. Representative Dennis Kucinich, Bill McKibben, and over 150 Vermont legislators, former legislators, farmers, and teachers.
